When a scheduled or immediate post fails to publish, ACE AI Spark marks it as Failed so you can diagnose the issue and retry. This guide covers every common failure reason and how to fix it.

How Failures Work

1️⃣

Publish Attempt

The system sends your content to the platform's API at the scheduled time.

🔄

Auto-Retry

If the first attempt fails, the system automatically retries up to 3 times with increasing delays.

📧

Notification

You receive an in-app notification (and email if enabled) explaining the failure.

Marked Failed

After all retries are exhausted, the post status changes to Failed so you can take action.

Common Failure Reasons

1. Expired or Revoked Token

Social media access tokens expire periodically. If your token has expired or you changed your password on the platform, publishing will fail.

Fix: Go to Social Media Connections, disconnect the affected account, and reconnect it to obtain a fresh token.

2. Insufficient Permissions

Some platforms require specific permissions (scopes) to publish. If your account was connected with limited permissions, posting may fail.

Fix: Disconnect and reconnect the account, making sure to approve all requested permissions during the OAuth flow.

3. Content Exceeds Platform Limits

Each platform enforces character or media limits. If your content exceeds them, the API will reject the post.

PlatformText LimitNotes
𝕏 / Twitter280 charactersLinks count toward the limit
Facebook63,206 charactersRarely an issue
Instagram2,200 charactersCaption only; requires an image
LinkedIn3,000 charactersPost body limit
YouTube5,000 charactersDescription limit
TikTok2,200 charactersCaption limit
Tip: The post editor shows a character counter for each selected platform. Keep an eye on it before scheduling.

4. Media Upload Errors

If an attached image or video is too large, in an unsupported format, or the file URL has expired, the platform will reject it.

Fix: Re-upload the media in the Media Library, ensure the format is supported (JPEG, PNG, MP4), and keep images under 50 MB and videos under 2 GB.

5. Platform API Outage

Occasionally, a social media platform's API may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance or an outage.

Tip: Wait 15–30 minutes and retry. You can check the platform's status page (e.g., status.x.com) for live updates.

6. Rate Limiting

Publishing too many posts in a short window can trigger rate limits on the platform's API.

Note: Space your scheduled posts at least 5 minutes apart per platform to avoid rate limits.

How to Retry a Failed Post

Open the Posts page

Navigate to Posts & Schedule from the sidebar. Failed posts are highlighted with a red badge.

Review the error

Click the failed post to expand it. The error message from the platform is displayed under Publish Errors.

Fix the root cause

Address the issue based on the error — reconnect the account, shorten the text, re-upload media, etc.

Retry or reschedule

Click Retry Now to publish immediately, or update the scheduled time and save to try again later.

Still failing? If retries continue to fail after fixing the issue, please contact our support team with the error message and we'll investigate further.
